Bonnie Sherman, AICP, is the Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Supervisor at the Texas Department of Transportation, working to promote collaborative development of safer, more connected walking and bicycling infrastructure throughout Texas. She plays a key role in advancing a number of statewide efforts, including active transportation planning, non-motorized count program, modernizing active transportation design, transportation alternatives, and bicycle tourism trails. She has 22 years of experience in active transportation, multimodal, and environmental planning at the local, regional, and state levels, including 6 years in private consulting. She earned her Masters’ in Community Regional Planning and in Public Affairs, as well as a B.S. in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin.
