Amid the affordable housing shortage in San Antonio, the city council created an overall SHIP strategy and formed an affordable housing team. Typical departmental silos created difficulties in coordinating overall city goals and sharing information regarding the efforts to achieve these goals. This presentation provides an overview of the history regarding the formation of these programs and the efforts the city has made to break down the barriers between departments to address affordable housing in an effective manner.
