DFW Airport's Modernization of International Parkway

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is one of the world’s busiest and most connected airports, with a significant infrastructure system that spans over 17,000 acres and continues to grow. Last year, DFW approved an ambitious $200M+ infrastructure project to bring a set of improvements to International Parkway, the main artery through the center of the airport and terminals, that would provide a safer experience, improve wayfinding, and enhance terminal access. The project’s primary challenge will be replacing the existing 50-year-old left-hand exit flyover bridges to Terminals A, B and C with new right-hand exits while maintaining access to all terminals, which served over 80 million passengers in 2023. The complex project will build 10 new bridges, add thousands of feet of MSE walls, and replace dozens of new LED high mast light poles along International Parkway. With preliminary work underway, the design-build team has started collaborating with DFW’s diverse mix of stakeholders, and major planning has begun to prepare for the biggest impacts to come in 2025 and 2026.
