Women Lead Historic P3 Water Supply & Integration Project in Texas

Vista Ridge, the largest P3 potable water project in the nation, provides a sustainable water supply to the San Antonio, Texas area, one of the top 10 growth areas in the United States (as of 2021). The project involved over 20 design packages from well field to termination site Agua Vista was the san Antonio Water System’s nomenclature for the projects required to receive and integrate the Vista Ridge Water. Of particular note, both Vista Ridge and Agua Vista were project/program managed by women engineers. The projects included over 500 easements, multiple high service pump stations, ground storage, water treatment, cooling towers, tunnels and over 142 miles of 54″ and 60″ pipe for transmission. This presentation will provide the background of the project, challenges resolved and lessons learned.
