Is CECON 2021 going virtual?
The 2021 Texas Civil Engineering Conference (CECON) is scheduled to be held in-person on September 15-17, in San Marcos. The safety of all our conference attendees, members, and staff is a top priority. Please view our safe event policy above for more information.
Will I have to wear a mask while attending CECON 2021?
By registering for CECON 2021, you agreed to abide by and engage in health and safety measures as required by the event venues and hotel, while attending the event. ASCE Texas Section recommends all attendees adhere to the CDC recommended guidelines and asks that all attendees who are not fully vaccinated wear a mask. Fully vaccinated attendees are encouraged to wear a mask indoors to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others.
Upon arrival at CECON 2021, you will be required to acknowledge the risks associated with attending an in-person event and sign the event waiver. This process will be conducted during conference check-in for all attendees.
All attendees will have the opportunity to indicate their social distancing comfort level while participating in the event. Red, yellow, and green pins will be provided and may be affixed to name badge lanyards. Wearing a red pin indicates to other attendees that you prefer to social distance, yellow indicates you are comfortable with elbow- and fist-bumps, and green indicates you are comfortable with handshakes and high-fives.
I need Professional Development Hours (PDHs) for my engineering license. When will I receive a certificate of attendance?
A certificate of attendance will be available after completing the conference survey. Attendees can use the ASCE Texas Section App to access the survey. In addition, all attendees will receive the survey via email following the conference. Upon completion of the survey, you will then be able to download your certificate of attendance as well as notate which specific CECON 2021 sessions you attended. The Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (TBPELS) does not pre-qualify courses or presentations for Professional Development Hours (PDHs). Please refer to the TBPELS rules to determine the adequacy of CECON programming and requirements for keeping your records.
How can I provide conference feedback, suggest speakers and topics for 2022, or join the committee?
We want to hear from you! All CECON attendees will receive a conference survey following the event. If you’d like to share additional feedback with a CECON Planning Committee Co-Chair, for items outside of our survey topics, you may do so by emailing email@example.com.

What is the event cancellation policy?
Canceled registrations will incur a $50 administrative fee and must be received in writing by August 13, 2021.
