Breaking Barriers in Leadership, Communication and Management with the Texas Section ASCE Residential Foundation Committee Steering Council

Since its inception in 1999, the Texas Section ASCE Residential Foundation Committee (RFC), has included Texas Section members who have a wealth of combined experience in residential foundation design, evaluation, and repair. Extensive RFC member efforts have resulted in the creation and ongoing updates of the Committee’s flagship publications, “Recommended Practice for the Design of Residential Foundations (Version 2)” and “Guidelines for the Evaluation and Repair of Residential Foundations (Version 3)”. Panelists, to include members of the Steering Council of the RFC who have been in leadership positions in prior versions of the RFC, will share brief opening comments. The Moderator will then open the floor to audience questions on residential foundation topics such advanced structural design techniques for stiffened slabs on ground, procedures for addressing soil movement, professional ethics challenges for the residential foundation engineer, forensic investigation methodology, analysis of foundation performance and damage, deflection vs. tilt, localized deflection vs. curvature, state of practice for non-structural remedial measures, state of practice for structural remedial measures, and related topics the audience may suggest.
