Bio

Michael Carter is one of the 3 owners of Blue Iron Foundations and Shoring, LLC and specializes in using the Press-in method to hydraulically jack sheet piles into the ground with no noise or no vibration. Having 25years of experience with the Giken press rigs and having worked for Giken for 10 years prior to starting Blue Iron Foundations and Shoring, Mr. Carter has worked on projects that range from 5 piles to several thousand. These projects are generally in extremely sensitive areas where noise and vibration can not be tolerated which include nuclear facilities, industrial plants, critical drainage features such as the US Army Corps of Engineers SELA program in New Orleans post Katrina, Extremely wealthy residential areas, and theme parks including Disney and Universal. Although Blue Iron does do conventional sheeting and shoring with vibratory hammers also, Mr Carter prefers the stress and complexity of the projects that typically require the Giken system. Michael has a Batchelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Central Florida, and a Masters in Business Administration from Rollins College. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida and holds a Contractors license in several states throughout the US and try’s to save the world, one pile at a time.
