Akila Thamizharasan has over 21 years of experience in the Transportation Industry. She graduated from Clemson University with a Masters in Transportation Engineering. She then worked at several multinational Transportation firms and gained extensive experience managing a broad range of transportation projects that involve planning, traffic engineering, and transportation technology. With a keen interest in serving the public, she shifted her career to the public sector and has been working at the Texas Department of Transportation since 2019. She currently serves as Director of Advanced project Development at TxDOT Austin District. She directs the schematics development, planning activities, Project delivery, Local Government, and Environmental programs in the Austin district.
