Bio
Ana Mijares, P.E., serves as the Deputy District Engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation’s Beaumont District, bringing over 29 years of experience in transportation planning, design, and project delivery. In her current role, she oversees the design, construction, and maintenance of nearly 2,400 miles of state highway and more than 1,500 bridges across eight counties in Southeast Texas.
Ana began her TxDOT career in 1996 in the Lufkin District, where she held key roles including Assistant Area Engineer, Design Engineer, and Director of Transportation Planning and Development (TP&D). Her leadership helped advance numerous corridor, safety, and mobility projects that addressed both regional needs and long-term transportation goals.
In addition to her public-sector experience, Ana spent seven years in the private sector as a Senior Project Manager, delivering schematics and PS&E for multiple TxDOT districts. Her ability to bridge public and private perspectives allows her to manage complex infrastructure programs with a deep understanding of technical, stakeholder, and environmental considerations.
Ana plays a critical role in advancing regional transportation initiatives, coordinating with local governments and communities along the Gulf Coast and near the Louisiana border. Her leadership reflects a strong commitment to multimodal planning, resilience, and collaborative project development that improves safety and mobility across the Beaumont District.
