Liv Haselbach PhD, PELamar UniversityDr. Liv Haselbach is a licensed professional engineer, a Fellow of ASCE and Board Certified in Environmental Engineering with the specialty of Environmental Sustainability by AAEES. Prior to her academic career she founded a land development consulting company in the northeast. She has a BS in Civil Engineering from Cornell with distinction, an MS in Chemical Engineering from UC Berkeley, and a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Connecticut. Her research focuses on low impact and sustainable development, and environmental engineering. She is currently a professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Lamar.

Pre-Conference Workshop: Southeast Texas Flood Sensor Program, supported through grants from the GLO and LNVA
Through a General Land Office (GLO) grant entitled “Southeast Texas Flood Coordination Study – Regional Flood Sensor System”, Lamar University faculty & students are working to enhance a flood sensor network in Southeast Texas, which includes community stakeholder and coastal region agency outreach. One of these trainings will be held on Tuesday, September 15 at 12:30 PM at Omni Corpus Christi. This 4-hour training session will occur in conjunction with the 2026 Texas Civil Engineering Conference (CECON).
The training session will discuss best practices for sensor unit operation and maintenance, installation exercises, web data management, and real-world simulations on flood sensor data application during emergencies. The session will conclude with a demonstration of a low-cost flood sensor. There is no fee for attending the training session. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
