Bio
Curtis Jones was born on January 10, 1978 in St. Louis, MO to professional educators. He is an avid sports fan, playing all sports as a youth. Also, he was a competitive pianist, winning awards, trophy’s and medals. Curtis attended Illinois State University and Alabama A&M University for Bachelor’s and Master’s respectively and is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
He is a 20 year Transportation Professional who started his transportation career at the Illinois Department of Transportation. Curtis has worked as Program Manager of Metropolitan Planning, Acting Air Quality Manger for Down State Illinois, and as Acting Outdoor Advertising Program Manager. Curtis has assisted with or lead major projects such as, The New Mississippi River Bridge (Stan Musial Bridge) project in St. Louis, MO, Co Author of the Illinois State MPO Operations Manual, the establishment of the St. Louis Freightway, Employee Training for the Illinois Department of Transportation, writing of the Office of Planning and Programming New Employee Manual, and the development of the New Project Selection Criteria for Discretionary Funding.
Curtis is currently a Project Development Manager in the Office of Planning and Programming for the Texas Department of Transportations. Curtis has led and continues to lead multiple high profile projects such as the, Statewide and Rural Connectivity Task Force, US90 Texas Corridor Border to Border Study, and the implementation of the Corridor Planning Tools.
