Bio

Liz Smith is a Vice President, Senior Principal, and National Transportation Manager at Terracon Consultants. She is a geotechnical engineering expert in design-build transportation projects, and slope and retaining wall failure evaluations and remediation.
Liz’s recent design-build projects include I35 NEX-Central in San Antonio, TX; Oak Hill Parkway, Austin, Texas; and I-66 Outside the Beltway in Fairfax, Virginia.
Liz is an active member of several professional organizations, including the ASCE, GI, DBIA, DFI, WTS, and TRB. She is a member of the Civil Engineering Certification Board of Directors.

Liz is a Virginia Tech Hokie with BS and MS degrees in civil (geotechnical) engineering. She and her husband Jack live in Round Rock, Texas.
