On top of everything else going on in a Floodplain Administrator’s work life, there are times they will have to attain special permits when certain large projects are being built within their community’s special flood hazard areas. For example, dams and levees, or highways and airports, even mining or drilling operations. This short course aims to answer many of the questions you may have about what agencies, at the State and Federal levels, need to be involved in the permitting process. The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) – Community Assistance Program (CAP) team will provide a one-hour presentation on floodplain permitting, common permit mistakes, record keeping and real-world scenarios that would require multi-agency permitting.
