Akila Thamizharasan, PE, PMP has over 21 years of experience in the Transportation Industry. She graduated from Clemson University with a Masters in Transportation Engineering. She then worked at several multinational Transportation firms in the private sector and gained extensive experience managing broad range of transportation projects that involve, traffic engineering studies, roadway design, multimodal projects and systems planning. With a keen interest to serve the public, she shifted her career to public sector and has been leading programs at Texas Department of Transportation since 2019. She currently serves as Director of Advanced project Development at TxDOT Austin District. She directs the Project delivery, programming, Local Government, schematics and Environmental programs at the Austin district.
