Bio

Born in Harlingen, Texas and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Sylvia Gonzalez holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Southern Methodist University. With over nine years of experience in transportation planning and design, she has led major infrastructure projects across Texas. Sylvia currently serves as TxDOT’s GEC Deputy Project Manager for the $2 billion Southeast Connector project in Fort Worth, where she oversees design management and technical compliance for a 16-mile design-build corridor involving three major interchanges. Her expertise spans freeway interchanges, traffic control plans, storm system design, and stakeholder coordination. A dedicated professional, Sylvia is an active member of ASCE and WTS and has been recognized with the Community Founder’s Award by the Frisco Sci-Tech Discovery Center.
