Bio
Martin Rodin currently serves as TxDOT’s Director of Professional Engineering Procurement Services (PEPS) Division. In this position, Martin is responsible for the procurement of over $2 Billion annually in professional engineering services for engineering, architectural and surveying needs statewide.
Mr. Rodin works with the twenty-five TxDOT Districts and eighteen of the TxDOT Divisions to translate their needs into professional services contracts, while also overseeing management of TxDOT’s annual consultant contracts budget of $1.6 Billion, as well as serving as the Departments liaison with the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
Mr. Rodin began working as an Engineering Assistant in 1985 for the TxDOT Dallas District Bridge Design Section. In 1987, he moved to the Amarillo District to manage a Bridge Design Group. While with the Amarillo District, Martin advanced to the position of District Design Engineer in 1990 and Director of Transportation Planning and Development in 1994. Martin left TxDOT service in 1997 to join the engineering consultant industry working for multiple firms including LOPEZGARCIA GROUP, URS and CobbFendley.
Mr. Rodin brings a wealth of experience in transportation design and engineering management from serving as a project manager for development of over 200 PS&E projects in his career. He is an award-winning design engineer, having received recognition from the Amarillo Independent School District, the Texas Chapter of the Associated General Contractors (AGC), the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) and the Texas Tech Academy of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineers.
In 2015, Martin found his way home to TxDOT when hired to become the PEPS Division Director. Mr. Rodin holds an MBA from West Texas A&M University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University.
